Collaborative Practive

Collaborative Practice is a non-contentious practice of resolving family conflicts, established in the United States in the 1990s.

Collaborative practice, at the centre of which is the person and his/her interests, is the identification of solutions that are attentive to the specific needs of each family or each couple in crisis, while determining the birth of conscious agreements that respect the needs of all the people involved.

The parties are therefore protagonists and choose their solution, without any manipulation and in the fullness of their decisions.

Negotiation is based on the principles of good faith, transparency and confidentiality.

Lawyers and other professionals that have been appointed (such as: communication facilitator, financial consultant, etc.) agree in advance with the client that the conflict must be defined outside the judicial sphere; the parties also state that, should an agreement not be reached, the aforementioned professionals will not be able to assist them in a hearing that sees them opposed to one another.
